1 Year CLAT Preparation Plan
One year is the "Golden Duration" for CLAT preparation. It is neither too short to cause panic nor too long to cause burnout. However, without a structured roadmap, students often waste the first 6 months on irrelevant topics. Knowledge Nation Law Centre presents a proven 4-Phase Strategy that has produced top rankers year after year.
Phase-Wise 12 Month Roadmap
Months 1-3: Foundation & Habits
(Build the Base)
The first quarter is about understanding the exam and building habits, not just solving questions.
- Reading: Start reading 'The Hindu' Editorial daily. Aim for 30 minutes of focused reading.
- Vocabulary: Learn 10 new words daily (Word Power Made Easy).
- Legal: Understand basics of Torts, Contracts, and Criminal Law (Principles only).
- Quant: Revisit Class 10th Math concepts (Percentages, Ratios, Averages).
- Mock Frequency: 1 Mock per month (just to get familiar).
Months 4-6: Concepts & Accuracy
(Deep Dive)
Now that you have the habit, dive deep into the syllabus topics.
- Legal Reasoning: Practice principle-fact questions. Start reading legal news.
- GK: Start covering monthly backlog. Use our 'Ignite' magazine.
- Critical Reasoning: Learn concepts like Assumption, Inference, and Strengthening/Weakening.
- Mock Frequency: 2 Mocks per month. Focus on accuracy, not speed.
Months 7-9: Speed & Strategy
(Shift Gears)
This is the "Make or Break" phase. You must finish the syllabus by Month 8.
- Time Management: Practice sectional tests with a timer.
- Weak Areas: Identify sections where you score low and dedicate extra hours.
- Reading Speed: Aim to read 450 words in 3-4 minutes with comprehension.
- Mock Frequency: 1 Mock every week (Sunday). Thorough analysis on Monday.
Months 10-12: Mastery & The Final Lap
(Exam Mode)
No new topics. Only revision and testing.
- GK Revision: Revise the last 12 months of Current Affairs.
- Mock Marathon: Increase to 2-3 Mocks per week.
- Exam Simulation: Take mocks exactly at 2 PM - 4 PM (CLAT timing).
- Mental Prep: Focus on staying calm and building stamina for 2 hours.
