The after-10th roadmap in four stages
CLAT UG is taken after Class 12, so a student who has just finished Class 10 has roughly two years. Those two years work best in four stages. Stage 1 (first three months of Class 11): build habits, read a newspaper editorial daily, start a vocabulary notebook and sit a diagnostic mock only to learn your starting point. Stage 2 (rest of Class 11): learn the five sections properly (English, Current Affairs with GK, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Techniques) with timed sectional practice. Stage 3 (early Class 12): shift to full-length mocks with review, while protecting board-exam preparation. Stage 4 (before the exam): revision, current-affairs capsules and exam-day temperament.
Starting CLAT coaching in Delhi after Class 10
Delhi students have two advantages after Class 10: many coaching options and an extensive metro network. They also face two problems: choice overload and long commutes. The right approach is to shortlist two or three institutes, visit them on a weekday, attend a demo class and decide on facts. This page gives a checklist and shows what the Knowledge Nation Law Centre classroom at Hauz Khas offers a Class 11 student.
Seven checks for a Delhi foundation batch
- Batch size. Up to 35 students at Knowledge Nation.
- Timings that fit school. Evening or weekend slots; ask for the actual current timetable.
- Commute. Hauz Khas campus is near Hauz Khas metro (Exit No. 4); test the journey from your school and home before you enrol.
- Named faculty. See Our Faculty and attend a demo.
- Reviewed mocks. 250+ mocks with analysis, started gradually.
- Verifiable results. 258 CLAT 2026 NLU selections are published name-wise for the institute as a whole; they are not split by campus.
- A flexible online option. Useful when board exams or travel make attendance hard.
The Hauz Khas classroom
The Delhi campus of Knowledge Nation Law Centre is at 47/1 First Floor, Kalu Sarai, Hauz Khas, New Delhi 110016. The institute was established in 2008 and has taught CLAT in Delhi for many cohorts. Students from South Delhi areas such as Saket, Malviya Nagar, Green Park, Munirka and Vasant Kunj can usually reach it without a long journey. The classroom follows the same faculty bench, notes and mock calendar as the live online batches, so a student who needs to switch for a few weeks does not fall behind. Visit the Delhi CLAT coaching page for details.
Balancing a Delhi school schedule with CLAT
Many Delhi students have school until mid-afternoon, tuition for science or commerce and then coaching. That schedule only works if there is a rest block and if CLAT preparation is built on small, steady habits. A good routine is class twice a week, short daily reading and one review slot on weekends. Protect school exam fortnights in advance. Read how to balance school and CLAT for more.
NLU Delhi and AILET
Delhi aspirants often have NLU Delhi in mind. NLU Delhi admits through AILET, not CLAT, so a student with that target should ask about a combined plan. The two papers share skills but differ in pattern, so the plan must cover both. See AILET coaching in Delhi.
Mistakes Delhi families make after Class 10
- Choosing the nearest centre without checking faculty or batch size.
- Starting only in Class 12, with no time to build comprehension.
- Judging by one topper’s photograph.
- Overloading the week so that sleep and school suffer.
A sample Class 11 week in Delhi
A realistic Delhi week combines school until the afternoon, two evening classes at the coaching centre, thirty minutes of reading each day and a weekend sectional test with review. The commute should be short enough that it does not eat the evening. If you live far from Hauz Khas, ask about attending some sessions online. The aim is a routine that a fifteen-year-old can sustain for two years, not a punishing schedule that collapses by December.
Questions Delhi parents should ask
- What are the actual current batch timings for Class 11?
- How many students are in the batch and who answers doubts?
- What happens during school exam fortnights?
- Can my child switch to live online for a few weeks if needed?
- What is the total fee for two years, and what does it include?
Reading speed first
For most students the single biggest lever in the first year is reading speed with comprehension. A student who can read a 450-word passage in under two minutes and answer correctly has a structural advantage in all five sections. Foundation coaching in Class 11 gives time to build that speed with daily passages and feedback, rather than racing through it in the last months.
Visiting the campus: what to notice
A campus visit tells you things a brochure cannot. Sit in on a class if allowed and notice how many students there are, whether they ask questions and how the teacher responds. Look at the study material, the room and the way staff speak to parents and students. Ask to see a sample mock review. Travel from your school to the campus at the hour you would actually go and note how long it takes. Do this for two or three institutes before you decide, and compare notes the same evening while the details are fresh.
Why the first six months matter most
The first six months of a foundation plan decide the habits that last two years. A student who builds a daily reading routine, a vocabulary notebook and an error log in these months finds every later phase easier. A student who postpones them finds the same habits harder to start under mock pressure. Delhi families sometimes feel Class 11 is “too early” for coaching; in practice it is the cheapest time to build skills, because the exam is far away and there is room to practise without panic.
