Why Delhi families should read results carefully
In Delhi, coaching results are advertised on hoardings, in pamphlets and in WhatsApp forwards. The photographs are persuasive and rarely complete. A banner does not say how many students enrolled, how many attended the full course or how many only bought a test series. For CLAT 2027 aspirants and their parents, the sensible approach is to treat results as evidence only when they are specific, verifiable and readable over several years. This page shows what that looks like and what Knowledge Nation Law Centre publishes.
What Knowledge Nation publishes
The CLAT 2026 results page lists 258 NLU selections with each student’s name, All India Rank, allotted National Law University, undergraduate course and KNLC ID. A parent can filter by college, scan a rank range and check names independently. The 2009 to 2025 timeline records the count for each cohort: 41 in 2009, 187 in 2024 and 224 in 2025, with 1682 in total across 17 cohorts.
One honesty point matters for a Delhi page. These figures are for the institute as a whole. Knowledge Nation teaches in Delhi (Hauz Khas), in Gurgaon (Sector 14) and live online across India, and the published tables are not divided by campus. We therefore do not claim that any number belongs to the Delhi classroom alone. If you want to know how Delhi classroom students performed, ask the counsellor for the batch-level picture; that is a fair question and a good institute will answer it.
The recent record, from the published timeline:
| CLAT year | NLU selections published |
|---|---|
| 2020 | 91 |
| 2021 | 98 |
| 2022 | 124 |
| 2023 | 151 |
| 2024 | 187 |
| 2025 | 224 |
| 2026 | 258 |
Five steps to read any coaching result table
- Prefer names to photographs. A name, rank and college can be checked against official allotment lists.
- Check the spread of colleges. A strong record places students across several NLUs, not one or two.
- Separate full-course from test-series students. Ask how many listed students attended the full programme.
- Read several years together. One good year can be luck; a long record shows a working system.
- Call someone on the list. A fifteen-minute conversation reveals class size, mock review and doubt support.
Reading the table by college and rank
Open the CLAT 2026 table, sort by AIR and note where the top rows went. Then filter by individual colleges. A long tail of selections in mid-ranked NLUs matters as much as a few top-five names, because most aspirants aim at a realistic range. Look at the course column and the ID format as well. A consistent KNLC ID shows that the institute keeps proper student records, a basic sign of an organised centre.
Delhi students often have NLU Delhi in mind. That university admits through AILET, not CLAT, so its seats will not appear in a CLAT results table. If NLU Delhi is a target, ask about AILET results separately; see AILET coaching in Delhi.
Why a multi-year record beats one big year
Coaching results are noisy. A single cohort can be unusually strong because a few exceptional students joined, or weak because of a disrupted exam year. When an institute shows 17 consecutive cohorts, a reader can see the trend and judge whether the programme is improving. The Knowledge Nation record rises from 41 selections in 2009 to 224 in 2025, and it also shows the years when numbers fell. A record that admits its dips is easier to trust than one that only climbs.
Strong programmes also place students across the National Law Universities, not just one or two. Filter the results table by college to see this yourself, and ask which NLUs the students in your target rank range joined.
Questions to ask any Delhi institute about its results
- Is the list complete, or a curated selection of the best names?
- Does each entry show a rank, a college and a way to verify it?
- Do the listed students include full-course students, not only test-series buyers?
- Has the list stayed stable over time, or does it change with each advertisement?
- Can I speak to a listed student whose rank was close to my target?
What results cannot tell you
A selection count is an absolute figure. It is not a selection rate, because it does not say how many students enrolled; we discuss that on the selection rate page. Results also do not tell you whether a particular teacher or batch suits you. Treat a strong record as a reason to look closer, not as a reason to stop asking questions. Ranks come from the student’s effort plus the coaching together, and no institute can promise one.
How to compare Delhi institutes fairly
Make a simple table with one row per institute you shortlist and the same columns for each: batch size, named faculty, number of reviewed mocks, published name-wise results, material provided, commute time and total fee. Fill it in from answers, not brochures, and visit at least two campuses on a weekday when classes are running. A real class tells you more than a reception desk. If any institute declines to fill a column, leave it blank and note it. Blank cells are useful information when you make the final choice.
A note for parents
Parents often ask the single question “how many selected?” and stop there. A better set is: how many joined, how many stayed, how many were selected and in which colleges, over how many years. Keep a note of the answers from each institute you visit. If one gives crisp, checkable numbers and another gives only adjectives, that contrast tells you what you need to know about how each will treat your child’s progress reports during the year.
From results to a plan for CLAT 2027
Use results as a filter and a mock as a test. Sit the free CLAT / AILET mock, note your section scores and ask a counsellor how your score compares with the cut-offs in the CLAT state-wise cut-off analysis. Then visit the classroom at Kalu Sarai, Hauz Khas, near Hauz Khas metro (Exit No. 4), attend a demo class and compare it with any other Delhi institute using the same checklist.
