Direct answer

Selection rate is selections divided by students enrolled. Knowledge Nation Law Centre publishes the numerator openly (258 CLAT 2026 NLU selections, 224 in 2025, for the institute as a whole) and caps its Delhi batches at up to 35 students. It does not quote an unaudited percentage, and you should be wary of any Delhi institute that does without showing its enrolment.

Selection rate and the long runway to CLAT 2028

With CLAT 2028 as your target, the useful question is not only “what fraction of students get selected” but “what fraction of students who start early and stay the full course get selected”. Many institutes quote a blended number that mixes crash-course joiners, test-series buyers and full-year students. Early joiners are a different group, and a blended rate can hide how they actually fared.

Ask the counsellor to separate the groups. How many students enrolled in a two-year or one-year foundation batch, and how many of them appear in the published results? You may not get a precise figure, but an institute that tracks its own batches will give a clear answer, and an institute that cannot has told you something about how it measures progress.

If you live in Delhi NCR, the Hauz Khas classroom lets you fit coaching around school, and a short, steady commute protects study time over a long runway. Students elsewhere can join live online with the same faculty.

What “selection rate” really means

When Delhi families look for the best CLAT coaching by selection rate, they want to know the chance that a student who joins will secure an NLU seat. The formula is selection rate = students selected ÷ students enrolled, for the same course and year. The trouble is that the denominator is rarely published. A Delhi institute may announce a large number of selections and say nothing about how many students it taught, how many attended the full course or how many only bought a test series.

That is why a headline percentage deserves suspicion. Before accepting “90% selection”, ask: 90% of whom? Students who attended all classes, who took the final mock, or who agreed to give a testimonial? A percentage without a defined group is marketing, not data.

A worked example, to show why definitions matter

The numbers below are hypothetical, used only to illustrate the arithmetic, and are not Knowledge Nation figures. Suppose an institute enrolled 400 students, of whom 250 attended the full-year course, and published 100 NLU selections. The rate is 25% if everyone counts (100 ÷ 400), 40% if only full-course students count (100 ÷ 250), and could be quoted higher still if some selections came from test-series buyers left out of the denominator. Three honest ways of counting give three numbers, so compare institutes only on one definition.

What Knowledge Nation publishes, and what it does not

Knowledge Nation Law Centre publishes the numerator in the open. The CLAT 2026 results table lists 258 NLU selections name-wise, and the 2009 to 2025 timeline shows 224 in 2025 and 187 in 2024, with 1682 in total. These can be checked row by row. They cover the institute as a whole, including the Delhi classroom, Gurgaon and live online students, and are not split by campus.

This page does not print a selection-rate percentage, because the site publishes no audited enrolment figure to divide by, and a number without its denominator is exactly the kind of claim we ask you to doubt. Ask the counsellor at the Hauz Khas campus for the batch-level picture for the course you want: how many enrolled in the comparable batch last year and how many of those appear in the results list. A candid institute will share it, and you can ask other Delhi institutes the same.

What really drives a better selection rate

Selection rate is an outcome. These are the inputs you can examine before you enrol:

  • Batch size. Up to 35 students per batch at Knowledge Nation, so a teacher can read each student’s paper.
  • Mock volume and review. 250+ mocks with analysis; without review, a mock repeats the same mistakes.
  • Entry diagnostics. A free mock at the start tells the counsellor whether you need a 1-year or 6-month plan.
  • Attendance and written work. Students who attend and submit move up, at any institute.
  • Faculty continuity. The same named teachers from first class to last, listed on Our Faculty.
  • Commute and routine. In Delhi, a short, steady journey to Hauz Khas (near the metro, Exit No. 4) protects study time.
  • Honest counselling. Admitting students who are unlikely to benefit hurts both the student and the institute’s own rate.

How to compare selection claims across Delhi institutes

  1. Ask for enrolment in the same course and year as the claimed selections.
  2. Ask how many selected students attended the full programme.
  3. Ask for names, AIR and college. See Delhi coaching as per results.
  4. Ask to speak to an alumnus who was not a topper. See Delhi coaching as per alumni.
  5. Ignore percentages that arrive without a stated group.

Selection rate and the Delhi coaching market

Delhi has some of the largest CLAT batches in the country, and in a large batch the arithmetic of selection rate is unforgiving: a hundred selections from two thousand students is a very different story from a hundred from four hundred, yet the banner looks identical. Ask for the denominator every time. Ask also whether students who changed course or left mid-year are counted as enrolled, because removing them quietly raises the rate. A transparent institute answers these questions without discomfort, and a vague answer is itself information.

Why small batches matter more than headline percentages

If a reliable rate is not available, look at the mechanisms that produce one. In a batch of up to 35, a teacher can notice who is slipping and call them in. In a batch of two hundred, the quiet student who needed help most loses the most. Mock analysis follows the same logic: a review of your own error pattern changes your next score, while a generic answer-key discussion barely does. These are conditions under which good outcomes become likelier, not a promise of a percentage, and you can examine each in a demo class.

Selection claims also suffer from survivorship bias: students who succeed are displayed and those who left halfway are not counted. A trustworthy institute counsels honestly at admission and says when a target needs a longer runway. Notice whether a counsellor asks about your current level, target NLU and available hours, or only describes the fee.

Questions to take to the counsellor

  • How many students enrolled in last year’s comparable batch?
  • How many of them attended the full programme?
  • How many appear in the published results list?
  • How are mocks reviewed, and how soon after each test?
  • What happens if a student needs to change batch or mode?

Write the answers down and ask other institutes the same questions. The comparison is only fair when the questions match.

What to do next for CLAT 2028

Do not choose by one number. Use selection counts as a first filter, batch size and mock quality as the second, and a demo class or free mock as the test. Sit the free CLAT / AILET mock, then book counselling through Take Admission or visit Kalu Sarai, Hauz Khas. Frequently asked questions

What is the selection rate of a Delhi CLAT coaching institute?

It is the number of enrolled students who secured an NLU seat divided by the number who enrolled, shown as a percentage, for the same course and cohort.

Is selection rate different for early joiners?

It can be. Students who join a foundation batch and stay the full course often differ from short-term joiners, so ask any institute to separate the groups before comparing rates.

Which Delhi CLAT coaching has the best selection rate?

Be careful of any claim without an enrolment figure. Knowledge Nation Law Centre publishes selection counts (258 for CLAT 2026, 224 for 2025, institute-wide) and keeps batches to up to 35 students; ask the counsellor for the batch-level outcome for your course.

Why do few Delhi institutes publish a selection rate?

It requires disclosing enrolment, and it depends on which students are counted: full-course, test-series or all. Without definitions a percentage is easy to inflate.

How do I compare selection claims between Delhi institutes?

Ask each the same four questions: how many enrolled, how many full-course students, how many selections among them and for which year.

Does a small batch improve selection chances?

It improves attention, doubt clearing and mock review, which move scores. It does not guarantee a result.
